In religion, the First Graders will hear about the rich young ruler and the parable of the rich fool. The rich young ruler didn’t value Jesus, putting a higher value on his wealth but God teaches us that we must obey the Commandments to have eternal life but since we can’t do this perfectly, Jesus did it for us. The parable of the rich fool shows us that God’s gifts are not ours to waste or store up for ourselves. Rather, we are part of a community of believers who are told to care for one another’s needs proving that Jesus and life in heaven are more important than money and life on earth.

Memory work:

39.He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Romans 8:32
